Going Places

Going Places: John Turturro is featured in the first photo from Going Places, a remake that has also been confirmed as an authorized spin-off from The Big Lebowski. Turturro has written and is currently directing the remake of a 1974 French comedy about two thugs on a road adventure; one of those thugs has been reimagined as Jesus Quintana, the supporting character played by Turturro in the Coen Brothers' classic. Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou, Susan Sarandon and Sonia Braga also star. [Coming Soon]

Edge of Tomorrow

Edge of Tomorrow 2: When a follow-up to dazzling sci-fi thriller Edge of Tomorrow was announced earlier this year, we wondered what new approach could be taken to the movie's premise. Director Doug Liman now says: "First of all the story is so amazing -- much better than the original film, and I loved and loved the original film -- and second of all, it’s a sequel that’s a prequel. … It’s gonna revolutionize how people make sequels. " Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are expected to return. [Collider]

Fonzo: Tom Hardy (Legend, above in dual roles) will portray infamous gangster Al Capone in Fonzo, written and to be directed by Josh Trank (Fantastic Four). The story will follow him after he is released from prison at the age of 47; ravaged by dementia and nearly a decade behind bars, he must deal with harrowing memories of his brutal life. [THR]
