All the Money in the World

The Merlin Saga: Ridley Scott (All the Money in the World, above) is in talks to direct Disney's The Merlin Saga. It's drawn from a series of books by T.A. Barron detailing an origin story for Merlin, who, in legend, became the mentor of King Arthur. Philippa Boyens (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films) is writing the screenplay. Separately, Disney is also developing a live-action version of Sword in the Stone, which would likely focus on King Arthur himself. [Variety]

She's Gotta Have It

Captain Marvel: DeWanda Wise, who recently starred in Spike Lee's version of She's Gotta Have It for Netflix (above), has joined the cast of Captain Marvel. No details about the role have been revealed yet; Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law and Ben Mendelsohn are already set to star. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck will direct the superpowered adventure, which is slated for release on March 6, 2019. [Deadline]

The Florida Project

The Turning: Young Brooklynn Prince, who made a smashing impression in the critically-acclaimed indie The Florida Project (above, right), has joined the cast of The Turning. Mackenzie Davis (TV's Halt and Catch Fire) and Finn Wolfhard (It) will star in the horror thriller. It's described as a loose adaptation of Henry James' classic tale The Turn of the Screw, in which a nanny in charge of two orphans becomes convinced that their house is haunted. Floria Sigismondi will direct. [Deadline]

Winchester

Winchester Trailer: Helen Mirren stars in Winchester as the heiress of a rifle manufacturer who believes that her family is haunted by the spirits of all those killed by the company's weapons. Jason Clarke also stars; the horror thriller will open in theaters on February 2. [Movieclips]
