Man of Steel

Man of Steel: After seeing Superman (Henry Cavill) in a very manly pose recently, it’s surprising to see him in handcuffs. What has the beloved character who believes in “truth, justice and the American way” done to deserve possible incarceration by the authorities? We’ll find out on June 14, when Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel opens wide in theaters. See also: new images from The Wolverine and Iron Man 3 below. [Entertainment Weekly]

Ben Affleck: Though Ben Affleck did not receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Director for Argo, as many expected, he is pressing onward to his next project. He confirms that it will be period crime drama Live by Night, based on Dennis Lehane’s novel. He is still working on the script, and explains that’s why he had to drop out of starring in con man caper flick Focus, opposite Kristen Stewart. [MTV]

21 and Over Trailer: From the writers of The Hangover comes a raunchy comedy that looks like a younger version of -- surprise! -- The Hangover. 21 and Over stars Skylar Astin, Miles Teller and Justin Chon in a tale of a night of debauchery occasioned by a young man’s 21st birthday. The movie opens on March 1. [Collider]

42 Trailer: Chadwick Boseman stars as the legendary Jackie Robinson in Brian Helgeland’s 42, with Harrison Ford as Brooklyn Dodgers executive Branch Rickey, who chose Robinson as the first player to break the color line in baseball. A new trailer showcases the legend in splendid fashion; the movie is due out on April 12, just in time for the new baseball season. [First Showing]
