Dangerous Odds: Margot Robbie (I, Tonya above) will star in Dangerous Odds. It's the true story of a cleaning lady who became the boss of an illegal sports betting enterprise in the 1980s. Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton) wrote the screenplay, based on a memoir by Marisa Lankester. The project has secured financing and will now move forward. [Deadline]

The Thirst: Boyd Holbrook, who memorably played a villainous character in Logan (above), is now in negotiations to write and then star in The Thirst. The action thriller, based on Holbrook's original idea, will take place in the near future, when water has become "a scarce commodity." [THR]

The Imitation Game

Naked Is The Best Disguise: Graham Moore, who won an Academy Award for writing The Imitation Game (above), will make his directorial debut on a female-led thriller. Naked Is The Best Disguise takes place during one night in a near future in which memories can be extracted from one person and inserted into someone else. It will follow an illegal memory dealer who is accused of murder. [THR]

Academy Awards 2005
