Rock Your World: Sequel specialist Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore) is graduating to a disaster movie. He’s in negotiations to direct San Andreas 3D, which, as we reported back in December, revolves around "a man trying to reconcile with his estranged wife and children in the wake of a massive quake along the San Andreas fault line." Reportedly, the man has to travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco, which sounds like a smash-up of Roland Emmerich's The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 (above), which were, after all, quite popular worldwide. Don’t Inhale: Fans of old school horror (i.e. the 80s) will be especially pleased to hear that Tom Holland has been hired to bring Stephen King’s short story The Ten O’Clock People to the big screen. Holland will script and direct; he previously did the same honors for King’s Thinner and The Longoliers, as well as the original Fright Night and Child’s Play. In The Ten O’Clock People, a man desperately trying to quit smoking discovers that monsters disguised as people have assumed positions of power among mankind, but that only people who are trying to quit smoking can see them. Slave Casting: The cast for director Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave keeps getting better by the day. In addition to the recently announced Benedict Cumberbatch, now comes word that Paul Giamatti, Garret Dillahunt, and Sarah Paulson have also joined Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Paul Dano, and more in the story, based on real-life events, about a freed slave who ends up back in chains and must fight for his freedom once again. Look Quick: It’s not much, but for hard-core devotees of Quentin Tarantino, it may be enough. The teaser for the preview trailer (that will debut later today) for the Django Unchained footage that will play in front of Prometheus this weekend has been unveiled.  [Film School Rejects]
