Movie News: Kurt Russell Wanted for 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2'; Scarlett Johansson Will 'Move That Body'

The Hateful Eight

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, above) is under consideration to play the father of Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The actor is said to be director James Gunn's top choice for the role in the sequel, but he's not yet been offered the part and, in fact, has not even read Gunn's script at this point. Production is scheduled to begin early next year; the movie will open in theaters on May 5, 2017. [The Wrap]

 

Scarlett Johansson

Move That Body: Scarlett Johansson is in negotiations to star in Move That Body, a raunchy comedy about a wild bachelorette party interrupted by a dead male stripper. Lucia Aniello (TV's Broad City) will direct, based on a script she wrote with Paul W. Downs, who will co-star in the movie. [The Wrap]

 

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2: Judgment Day: Released in 1991, James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day was the box office champion for that year, earning more than $500 million worldwide. The movie will return to theaters next year in a digitally remastered 3D release; it's understood that China is a primary target for the re-release since the blockbuster sequel never got a theatrical release there. Ice Age: Collision Course

Ice Age: Collision Course Trailer: The first official trailer for Ice Age: Collision Course showcases the continuing adventures of Scrat the squirrel as he attempts to secure an elusive acorn.
