3:10 to Yuma

Get on the Boat: The cast for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, starring Russell Crowe, is starting to firm up. Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth will play two of Noah’s sons, Ham and Shem, respectively. Lerman previously played opposite Crowe in the Western remake 3:10 to Yuma (above). Still to come: Noah’s wife, Noah’s “nemesis” (evidently a new, non-Biblical character), and a love interest for Ham. This should be fun! [Deadline]

Director Speaks Up: As we’ve reported, speculation has been rife about the real reason(s) for the last-minute, nine-month delay in releasing G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Now director Jon M. Chu claims that the long delay was at his request so that the 3D conversion would not be rushed. And, since the studio (Paramount) has decided that 3D is necessary, Chu says he wants to try some “fun new things” with the technology. [G.I. Joe Retaliation Superpage via Latino Review]

Scary Lead: About to turn 27, actress Ashley Tisdale is still known mostly as a Disney Channel star. She’ll make another attempt to forge a feature-film career with a starring turn in Scary Movie 5, to be directed by Malcolm Lee. Will she make anyone forget Anna Faris, star of all four previous Scary Movie installments? [The Hollywood Reporter]

Klingons Confirmed: If you were watching the MTV Movie Awards very carefully on Sunday night, you might have caught a blurry glimpse of something very  revealing from the secretive Star Trek 2. It’s now been confirmed that the blurry image was, in fact, a Klingon, and the appearance on director J.J. Abrams’ monitor during a videotaped skit was intentional. [TrekMovie / HitFix]
