Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle`

Mrs. Doubtfire: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (above), a followup to Robin Williams' 1995 family adventure, opens in theaters on Wednesday. Now costar Kevin Hart says he'd love to play a lead role that Williams made iconic in a 1993 movie: Mrs. Doubtfire. "That was a very amazing performance on both ends for him," Hart says. "I think that's one I'd love to get to play." [CinemaBlend]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The Addams Family: Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) is in negotiations to voice the lead role of Gomez Addams in a new, animated version of The Addams Family. The original characters were created by Charles Addams in illustrated form in The New Yorker; the single-panel gags served as inspiration for a 1960s TV show, a 1970s animated series and two more recent live-action comedies. Conrad Vernon (Sausage Party) will direct. [The Tracking Board]

Watergate: George Clooney (Suburbicon, above) will produce Watergate, an eight-episode limited series about the 1970s political scandal that eventually toppled President Richard Nixon. Reportedly, the idea is for each episode to focus on a different, key character involved, in the style of the famed Japanese screen classic Rashomon. Writer Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) will partner with Clooney and Clooney's usual producing partner Grant Heslov on the series. [Deadline]
