The Avengers

Hawkeye: Asked if he would be interested in doing a stand-alone movie for his archery-loving Marvel character Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner said: "It all comes down to the content. … I'm confident they can do whatever they want, if they want to do it. And I'd be game." The character will next appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the actor says he is "very excited about the outcome of it, and where it can go in the future." [Reddit]

Kill Your Darlings

The Hateful Eight: Jennifer Jason Leigh (above in Kill Your Darlings) has snared the female lead in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Western The Hateful Eight. She'll play a prisoner who has been charged with murder and is on her way to be hanged when a storm interrupts the trip. Leigh will join headliners Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Bruce Dern. Martha Marcy May Marlene

Little House on the Prairie: Sean Durkin, whose debut indie feature Martha Marcy May Marlene won critical acclaim, is in negotiations to helm a big-screen version of Little House on the Prairie. Having in mind the adult-oriented nature of his debut, it may sound like a surprising change for the director, but the screenplay by Abi Morgan previously attracted the likes of David Gordon Green, suggesting this adaptation may be quite different from the family-friendly 1970s TV version. Focus Trailer: The first trailer for Focus starts with a bang. Will Smith and Margot Robbie star; he's an experienced con man and she's an "intern" who wants to learn all his secrets. From there, the trailer twists into crime and passion with wit and fisticuffs. The movie opens in theaters on February 27. [MovieClips]
