Hugh Jackman: Perhaps in an attempt to intimidate people into seeing The Wolverine, Hugh Jackman tweeted a photo of himself weightlighting, with the caption: "If the bar ain't bendin, then you're just pretendin." He included hashtags for 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, indicating that his role as the claw-powered mutant has not quite finished. Speaking of which, director Bryan Singer tweeted that he shot scenes with Jennifer Lawrence this past Saturday; alas, she wasn't weightlifting. [Hugh Jackman / Bryan Singer]

Ride: It's never easy to get an independent movie made, even if you're an Academy Award-winning actress. Helen Hunt, who won an Oscar for 1997's As Good As It Gets and was nominated for last year's The Sessions, has finally locked down financing for Ride, which she wrote and will produce and direct. Oh, and she'll also star as a mother who follows her surf-loving son (Brenton Thwaites) from New York to Southern California; Luke Wilson will play a surf teacher. The movie starts production next week. [Deadline]

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock: The version of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock that has been available for streaming on Netflix is missing the English subtitles for the Vulcan and Klingon languages, according to numerous complaints posted on the site. A new, unsourced report from Britain claims that Netflix will remove the movie from its listings and translate the scenes themselves in about a week, though that sounds patently ridiculous, since the subtitles have been available on home video for years. We're hoping this is just an oversight on Netflix' part. [Radio Times]

A Teacher Trailer: Stop me if you've heard this one before: a young high school teacher (Lindsay Burdge) begins an affair with one of her students. What makes the critically acclaimed indie drama A Teacher stand out, apparently, is strongly suggested in an intriguing new trailer, which does not sensationalize the queasy subject matter. The movie will be available via various VOD platforms on August 20, ahead of its limited theatrical release on September 6. [The Dissolve]
