American Hustle

American Hustle: A nearly unrecognizable, curly haired Bradley Cooper stars with Christian Bale and Amy Adams in the first official look at American Hustle, directed by David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook). The actors are outfitted in groovy late '70s threads, which is appropriate to the era in which the movie is set; it's based on a real-life FBI sting that involved members of Congress and the mafia. The movie, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence and Jeremy Renner, is due in theaters on December 13. [USA Today]

Artemis Fowl: The first two books in the beloved children's series Artemis Fowl will serve as inspiration for a big-screen version. The titular character is a 12-year-old "criminal mastermind," who also happens to be a millionaire and a genius. The project reunites famed producer Harvey Weinstein with Disney, his former corporate overlords when he ran Miramax. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Hillary Clinton: Lately, former First Lady, U.S. Senator and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has become a very popular subject for filmmakers. First came Rodham, a feature-film project about her early years, announced earlier this year, then came a planned NBC miniseries that will cover "the scandal years" from 1998 to the present day. Now comes a documentary from CNN, to be directed by Charles Ferguson (the acclaimed financial industry doc Inside Job); few details have been released about the film's intended scope, but it's due out next year. Bad Milo Trailer: Transcending the limitations of the "horror-comedy" label is not an easy task, so the new, definitely NSFW trailer for Bad Milo doesn't even try, instead leaning on bloody horror tropes before trotting out a creature of unpleasant, possibly hilarious origin. The movie, starring Ken Marino and Gillian Jacobs, will be available via various Video On Demand platforms on August 29, ahead of its limited theatrical release on October 4. [Yahoo! Movies]
