Noah: Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming, non-traditional drama Noah is proving to be one of the more intriguing projects coming out of Hollywood in recent memory, so it’s no surprise that the first unofficial look inside the biblical character’s large flotation device (above) is already sparking wide discussion. Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, Logan Lerman and Emma Watson are starring; the movie has an estimated arrival date in theaters of March 2014. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Rupert Wyatt, who directed the very successful Rise of the Planet of the Apes, has moved on, and so Fox is deciding in whose hands to entrust their valuable franchise. Among the names that have reportedly been floated: Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter), Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intruders), and, of course, Guillermo del Toro, who, if rumor were to be believed, is up for every directing job in Hollywood. Academy Awards: Earlier this year, the superb Iranian drama A Separation won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but there is no possibility that the country will repeat its victory in 2013. Iran will not submit a candidate for the foreign-language race as a protest “against the making of a film insulting the Prophet [Muhammad] and because of the organisers' failure to take an official position [against the film]." Officials have in mind the inflammatory Innocence of the Muslims, held responsible for widespread violence in the region. [Los Angeles Times]

Price Check: The always-sparkling Parker Posey stars in Price Check as a high-powered supermarket exec who decides to mentor happily married suburban dad Eric Mabius. The relationship between boss and employee quickly becomes very, very complicated and, we hope, very funny. The movie is due out on November 16; watch the trailer below. [Yahoo!
