Cell: Cell phones are deadly! A new photo provides the first look at Cell, a big-screen adaptation of Stephen King's 2006 best-selling novel. John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson and Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan) star in the horror thriller, which takes places after a mysterious signal causes cell phone users to become murderously violent. The movie is aiming for release later this year. [Collider]

Taken 3

Taken 3: Liam Neeson's action thriller Taken 3 has already earned twice as much in overseas territories ($168 million) as it has here in the U.S. ($82 million), and now it's poised to open in China with an extra dimension. A special 3D version will be available in theaters there, courtesy of the film's production house Euracorp, which enjoyed great success with a 3D version of Scarlett Johnson's action vehicle Lucy last year in China and France. Asteroids: It's taken more than 30 years, but a movie version of video game Asteroids, first released in November 1979, may finally be heading to the big screen. F. Scott Frazier (upcoming action thriller Autobahn) has been brought on board to rewrite the script, which has been in development at Universal since 2005. The game features a spaceship traveling through an asteroid field while dodging -- and shooting at -- flying saucers. [Heat Vision]

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 Trailer: Kevin James reprises his role as a tightly uniformed hero in Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, due in theaters on April 17. The first trailer finds him having a difficult time relaxing while on vacation in Las Vegas, which means he is all too happy to roll back into action when a major crime is committed. [MovieClips]
