Amazon: Online retailer, which has enjoyed success producing original small-screen shows such as the Golden Globe-winning Transparent (above), says it will begin producing and acquiring original movies for theatrical distribution in 2015. Detour: Tye Sheridan, who gave an impressive turn in 2012's Mud (opposite Matthew McConaughey, above), is proving to be a young actor in demand. Sheridan, who turned 18 last November, appears in three films that will debut at this month's Sundance Film Festival, and will next star in psychological thriller Detour, to be directed by Christopher Smith (Black Death). He'll play a young man who, "while grieving for his dying mother, struggles to decide whether he should kill his unfaithful step-father [sic]." [The Hollywood Reporter]
