Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Jason Clarke, Kerri Russell and Gary Oldman are the human stars of the upcoming sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but many people ae convinced the real star is Andy Serkis, who will reprise his role as Caesar from Rise of the Planet of the Apes. New photos from the set show off Serkis and other apes without hair covering up their motion-captured bodies. [Daily Mail via Collider]

Go the F--- to Sleep: The surprising publishing sensation titled Go the F--- to Sleep is, surprisingly (?!) heading to the big screen. Actor-writer Ken Marino (Role Models, Wanderlust) and his wife Erica Oyama have been hired to pen the screenplay, based on the book written by Adam Mansbach and illustrated by Ricardo Cortes. The source material is quite slender, but this sounds like it has the potential to be a profanely funny movie about the frustrations of parenthood. [Deadline]

Untitled Cameron Crowe: We kept hearing that Cameron Crowe’s upcoming romantic comedy, which has yet to be titled, would be a two-character piece starring Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper, but now it appears that other characters will have substantial roles as well. Or else, why is Rachel McAdams in negotiations to appear in the movie? We’re intrigued; McAdams would play the ex-girlfriend of Cooper’s character, a defense contractor who falls for Air Force pilot Stone. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Rush Trailer: The exciting international trailer for Ron Howard’s Rush focused on the adrenaline, er, rush of Formula 1 racing in the 1970s, but the new domestic trailer is more dramatic, giving context to the four-wheel action by establishing the fierce rivalry between drivers Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds). Plus, Olivia Wilde speaks with an accent! The movie races into theaters on September 20. [First Showing]
