Jersey Boys

Jersey Boys: Clint Eastwood is bringing the movie version of Broadway musical Jersey Boys to theaters on June 20, and the first official image looks quite snazzy. The film tells the story of pop group the Four Seasons, who rose to popularity in the early 1960s on the strength of songs like "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Walk Like a Man." [Collider]

Steven Seagal: Following in the footsteps of Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal may become the next action movie star to run for political office. Reportedly, he is considering a run for governor in Arizona, and has consulted with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio about the possibility. The next election will be held on November 4, 2014. Absolutely Fabulous: The British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous built up a considerable audience over the past 20 years, thanks largely to Jennifer Saunders, who created the show and starred with Joanna Lumley. A movie version has been under consideration for a couple of years, and now Saunders says that she has finally agreed to write the screenplay, marking the return of her "drug-abusing, booze-swilling" characters. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit Clip: Is it a mystery? A thriller? Or pure action? A new, extended "megaclip" from Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit suggests that the franchise reboot may be all three. Chris Pine, Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner star; the movie opens in theaters on January 17. [The Playlist]
