Mar 10, 2016

Baywatch: Dwayne Johnson shared the first image of Baywatch costar Alexandra Daddario in her lifeguard uniform. The two starred together as father and daughter in San Andreas. Daddario is playing Summer Quinn, a character portrayed by Nicole Eggert in the Baywatch TV series. The movie, due out on May 19, 2017, also added Jack Kesy (TV's The Strain) and Amin Joseph (Dope) to its cast in undisclosed roles. [Instagram/Deadline]

American Assassin: Michael Keaton (above in Spotlight) will star in American Assassin. It's based on the 11th novel in a series by Vince Flynn about a former scholar/athlete transformed into a government-sanctioned killer. Keaton will play a training officer who becomes the assassin's mentor. Bruce Willis was previously considered for the role. Michael Cuesta (Kill the Messenger) will direct. [THR]

Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed: Another movie about an assassin has whipped up an advance ticket package that may strain wallets. Ubisoft, which publishes the Assassin's Creed video game series that serves as source material for the movie, is offering various packages, starting with a $15 deal that comes with a LED watch and temporary tattoes, ramping up to a package that includes a replica crossbow prop (above) for just $1,200. All packages include a ticket and a digital copy of the script. The movie, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, is scheduled for release on December 21. [The Verge]

High-Rise Clip: Tom Hiddleston (aka Loki in The Avengers) meets Jeremy Irons (aka Alfred in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) in a new clip from High-Rise, but they're portraying characters very different from the ones they've played in superhero movies. Hiddleston is a new resident of a very tall building and Irons is the mysterious architect. Sienna Miller and Luke Evans also star; the movie opens in select theaters on May 13. [Movieclips]
