The Wolverine

The Wolverine: Recently the first official image of Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine was released, and now we have an unofficial look at Svetlana Khodchenkova as the Viper. Her character, aka Madame Hydra, was once involved in an assassination attempt on the life of Mariko (Tao Okamoto), the former love interest of Wolverine. The film, due out in July 2013, follows the fearless superhero as he travels to Japan to see Mariko. [The Playlist]

Chris Hemsworth: The once and future Thor may be playing a terrorist hunter for the CIA. Reportedly, Chris Hemsworth has been offered $10 million to star in American Assassin, based on the 11th novel in a series by Vince Flynn about a former scholar/athlete transformed into a government-sanctioned killer. Jeffrey Nachmanoff will helm the picture; Bruce Willis is in talks to play the assassin’s mentor. [Deadline]

Jamie Foxx and Ken Jeong: It’s us against the world! That seems to be the attitude espoused by Jamie Foxx and Ken Jeong, who have each agreed to appear in movies written by the other. Foxx’s project is entitled All-Star Weekend, about friends who become fans of opposing NBA stars, while Jeong’s film is a buddy comedy titled After Prom, about high school friends who must eventually guide their children through the rituals and pitfalls of prom night. Django Unchained Trailer: Speaking of Foxx, he stars in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, due in theaters on December 25. A new trailer features more of Tarantino’s dialogue, smartly delivered by Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as explosions, gunfire, fistfights and inappropriate jokes. [Collider]
