Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Caesar is back, and he's not happy. The first footage from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was shown over the weekend at Comic-Con in San Diego, and Fox has now released the first official image, depicting Caesar (Andy Serkis) "sporting war paint." The movie, which also stars Jason Clarke, Keri Russell and Gary Oldman, will battle its way into theaters on July 28, 2014. [Collider]

Stuntmen Save Woman: A distraught woman hanging off the 14th floor of an apartment building in San Diego was resuced by three stuntmen in town for Comic-Con. The stuntmen were setting up for a private event demonstration across the street. When they saw what was happening, they sprang into action, raced up to the apartment, grabbed her, and tied her into a harness before gently hauling her back inside to safety. Police arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. [ABC News]

Voyage of Time: Director Terrence Malick is known for his meticulous style of filmmaking, which often results in long waits between movies. But his methods are evidently a bit too slow for one group of investors who have filed suit against him, alleging that he declined to "finally focus" on Voyage of Time, an ambitious documentary project that was to encompass "the events of our cosmic history, as well as the state of the Earth now and the prospects for its future." Brad Pitt was attached to narrate. Malick's attorneys claim the suit is "without merit." [The Hollywood Reporter]

The Family International Trailer: Robert De Niro played a memorably chilling mobster in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas, but he's playing a decidedly more oddball criminal in The Family, Luc Besson's big-screen adaptation of Tonino Benacquista‘s novel Badfellas. This time De Niro is relocated by the witness protection program to France, where he and his family (including Michelle Pfeiffer) face many illegal temptations. The movie, also starring Tommy Lee Jones, will be less of a secret when it opens on September 20. [Bleeding Cool]
