A Million Ways to Die in the West

A Million Ways to Die in the West: Seth MacFarlane made the leap from TV to features with the sleeper hit Ted in 2012, and he aims to upend expectations again with his upcoming comic Western A Million Ways to Die in the West. MacFarlane stars as a cowardly sheep farmer who loses his girlfriend (Amanda Seyfried) and then tries to regain his courage with the help of gunslinger Charlize Theron, whose husband (Liam Neeson) objects. Twenty Feet from Stardom: Singers Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, Judith Hill and Lisa Fischer, who are featured in the marvelous documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom, performed at the Rose Bowl yesterday, offering up a soulful rendition of the National Anthem. The film which has been short-listed for Academy Award consideration as Best Documentary, tells the story of their careers, mostly as background singers for better known recording artists. Shia LaBeouf: The actor and fledgling filmmaker got himself in hot water when he was accused of plagiarizing a story by comic artist Daniel Clowes for a short movie he made earlier this year. Now it appears that Shia LaBeouf hired a skywriting team in Los Angeles to issue a public apology that was five miles long: "I am sorry Daniel Clowes." [Bleeding Cool]
