Christian Bale

The Deep Blue Good-bye: Christian Bale was all set to play hard-bruising 'salvage recovery expert' Travis McGee in The Deep Blue Good-bye, but a leg injury he suffered a while ago has not healed sufficiently for him to be able to start filming the action drama next month, as originally planned. It's not known when the project, a possible begining to a new franchise, can resume; director James Mangold is turning his attention to the next Wolverine movie, and Bale has several other projects lined up over the next year. The Wolverine

Wolverine: Speaking of Wolverine, Michael Green has been hired to write the next installment in the series. Green (Blade Runner 2, Green Lantern) is working on the script with "input" from director James Mangold. Hugh Jackman will star, possibly for the last time as the character; the movie is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017. [The Wrap]

Barely Lethal

Barely Lethal Trailer: A new Barely Lethal trailer sets up the premise: Hailee Steinfeld has been raised at a school for assassins, but decides she wants out and heads to high school -- which turns out to have its own potentially lethal dangers. Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Alba, and Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) also star; it's heading to theaters on May 29. [MovieClips]
