Get It While You Can: Jean-Marc Vallee, who directed Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto to Academy Award-winning performances in Dallas Buyers Club -- and is also responsible for this year's Wild -- will helm Get It While You Can, a musical drama based on the life of '60s rock icon Janis Joplin. Amy Adams is set to star as the talented, troubled singer; the film is tentatively set to shoot in mid-2015. [Deadline]

Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock: Channing Tatum, currently receiving acclaim for his dramatic role in Foxcatcher (above), will make his directorial debut, an adaptation of the young-adult novel Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick (Silver Linings Playbook). Tatum will direct the movie with Reid Carolin, his producing partner, and may also take a supporting role; the story follows a troubled teen "who plans to kill his best friend and then himself."
