The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz: "We’re not in 2D anymore, Toto." The beloved 1939 version of The Wizard of Oz has stood the test of time for generations of movie fans with its lovable characters and fantastical settings, and now it will be adding a new dimension, courtesy of Warner Bros., which plans to release a 3D conversion of the film on home video in the fall of 2013. The studio will be celebrating its 90th anniversary next year, and also plans special 100-film DVD and 50-film Blu-ray collector sets. [Collider]

Not Fade Away: The first feature film from David Chase, creator of The Sopranos, is about to premiere at the New York Film Festival, and now its first poster has been revealed. Set in the 1960s, Not Fade Away tells the story of three New Jersey friends who are inspired to start a rock band after seeing the Rolling Stones on TV. The film will open in theaters on December 21. Iron Man 3: Will Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) give Iron Man 3 a fresh new look? Will Robert Downey Jr. have some smart new quips to dispense? Will the first post-Avengers Marvel superhero movie meet or exceed expectations? We’ll have to wait until May 3, 2013 for those questions to be fully answered -- that’s when Iron Man 3 hits theaters -- but the debut of the film’s first trailer should offer some great hints, and we only have to wait until October 23 for that to debut. Lincoln TV Spot: We got our longest look yet at Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln last night, in an extended TV spot that ran after the first presidential debate. Daniel Day-Lewis’ voice as the 16th president of the United States rings throughout scenes of war, turmoil and tribulation; the film opens wide on November 16. [The Hollywood Reporter]
