The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: The character doesn’t appear in J.R.R. Tolkien’s book, which is set before The Lord of the Rings, but it’s still lovely to see Elijah Wood once again essaying Frodo, the role that made him famous, in Peter Jackson’s version. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is due out in theaters on December 14. [Hey U Guys]
The Twilight Saga: Rumors continue to swirl that The Twilight Saga will continue after Breaking Dawn -- Part 2. The latest report is that none of the lead characters -- Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) -- will be involved, with speculation being that the Wolf Pack could become the focus of the story, either in a TV series or in a film spin-off. Expect more rumors as November 16, the release date for Breaking Dawn -- Part 2, draws closer. [Moviehole]
Tom Cruise: Currently in the midst of filming two science-fiction projects -- Oblivion and All You Need Is Kill -- Tom Cruise could make it three in a row with Our Name Is Adam. Little is known about the script by T.S. Nowlin, but producer Mary Parent (Valkyrie) wants to work with Cruise again. So does everyone else, though; he’s attached to the Van Helsing reboot and a remake of The Magnificent Seven, among several others, with no apparent frontrunner to be his next role. [Variety]
Jack Reacher: Speaking of Mr. Cruise, he will next be seen in Jack Reacher, which hits theaters on December 21. Cruise plays a former military officer who now drifts around the country having adventures and solving crimes. A new international poster presents him in badass mode. [Total Film]
