Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America 3: With the comic book version of Steve Rogers stepping aside from his duties as Captain America, some have wondered if future Marvel movies will be affected as well. Chris Evans, however, is not ready to give up the shield. "Don’t take my job from me prematurely, dude,” Evans said. “I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character.” So that's that -- for now. [MTV]

Ghostbusters / Tammy / Bridesmaids

Ghostbusters: Bill Murray has weighed in on the possibility of an all-female Ghostbusters sequel under the direction of Paul Feig, and he's all in favor of the idea. “I would go to that movie," he said. "They’d probably have better outfits, too.” Murray named Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig as prospects, a couple of actresses we suggested back in August. He also enthused about Linda Cardellini and Emma Stone as funny, suitable candidates to fight ghosts. [Toronto Star]

Top Gun

Top Gun 2: The sequel to 1986's Top Gun is moving forward. Justin Marks, who recently worked on Disney's upcoming live-action version of The Jungle Book, is in negotiations to write the screenplay for Top Gun 2, which aims to show that human pilots are still "relevant" in the increasingly high-technology world of modern air warfare. Tom Cruise is expected to reprise his role as the hotshot pilot known as Maverick. [The Hollywood Reporter]

The Boy Next Door

The Boy Night Door Trailer: Jennifer Lopez stars as an unhappy wife in the first trailer from The Boy Night Door. While experiencing marital difficulties, she succumbs to the temptations offered by her good-looking new neighbor, and lives to regret her indiscretion mightily. Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) directed; the thriller opens in theaters on January 23, 2015. [Universal Pictures]
