Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World: Photos from the set of Thor: The Dark World have been popping up on various sites recently, showing the film’s armored villains, the Dark Elves. We’re anticipating that the background imagery will change to some degree -- unless the bad guys run around in front of unthreatening greenery! -- but at least we have some idea of their masks and costuming. Transformers 4 / The Amazing Spider Man 2: Who wants to be a Hollywood star? Right now, several major studio projects are looking to cast lesser-known, young (20-30 years of age) actors in supporting roles, which are seen as potential career makers. The films include established franchises like Michael Bay’s Transformers 4 and Marc Webber’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as a couple that are considered to have franchise potential: Divergent and Need for Speed. Actors in the mix include Isabelle Cornish, Luke Grimes and Brady Corbet. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Triplets: The sequel to Twins took another step forward with news that writers Josh Gad and Ryan Dixon have been signed to work on the project, titled Triplets. Gad starred in Book of Morman on Broadway and tops the cast of upcoming TV comedy 1600 Penn, while Dixon is an executive for the website ScriptShark, which offers services for writers seeking professional analysis. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are returning for the sequel, with Eddie Murphy joining as yet another unknown brother. [Deadline]

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Trailer: Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower star in the fantasy romance The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, based on a best-selling novel, which postulates that an invisible realm exists within our world, where half-human, half-angel Shadowhunters battle demons, vampires and other supernatural creatures. The first trailer lays out the ground rules. [MTV]
