Movie News: Bob Odenkirk to Star in Action Thriller; Kevin Hart to Star in 'My Own Worst Enemy'

Better Call Saul

Nobody: Bob Odenkirk (The Post; Better Call Saul, above) will star in the action thriller Nobody. He will team with the people behind the John Wick films and Atomic Blonde to develop and produce the project, which follows an ordinary man who comes to the defense of a woman under attack, only to learn that one of the thugs is the brother of a drug kingpin out for revenge. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

My Own Worst Enemy: Kevin Hart (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) will star in My Own Worst Enemy, an action comedy that will be directed by Tim Story. Hart and Story previously teamed on two Ride Along films, with a third installment under consideration. Chad St. John (London Has Fallen) wrote the script; it revolves around an assassin who gets help "from an unlikely source." Universal acquired the package and is hoping to see production begin in the summer. [Deadline]


Song to Song

Pale Blue Dot: Natalie Portman (Song to Song, above) is in talks to replace Reese Witherspoon in Pale Blue Dot. If things work out, Portman will play a former astronaut who begins to unravel once she's back home on Earth. Witherspoon's schedule prompted her to drop out in November, though she'll remain as a producer. Noah Hawley (FX's Fargo and Legion) is set to direct. [Variety]


Gabrielle Union

Breaking In Trailer: Gabrielle Union (above) stars in the first trailer for Breaking In as a mother with two children who returns home after her father dies to sell the family's property. She is forced to defend herself, though, after a gang breaks into the house. The thriller will open in theaters on May 11. [Movieclips]
