Maleficent: Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne can be seen in a new photo from Maleficent, sharing a scene with her mother. Now five years old, Vivienne was cast because other young performers were too frightened of Jolie's villainous character; Vivienne plays a girl who grows up to be Princess Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty). The Ballad of Richard Jewell: Leonardo DiCaprio just dropped out of action-mystery The Deep Blue Good-By due to scheduling issues, and as if to prove just how busy he is, two of his projects are moving forward. First, The Ballad of Richard Jewell, which he is producing, has hired Academy Award-nominated writer Billy Ray (Captain Phillips) to adapt the magazine article that serves as source material. Jonah Hill will star as the security guard falsely accused of a bombing attempt at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and DiCaprio will play his lawyer. [Variety]

Blood on Snow: Another DiCaprio project is about to land a hot director. Daniel Espinoza (Safe House) is in talks to drect Blood on Snow, based on two forthcoming books by best-selling Norwegian crime novelist Jo Nesbo. DiCaprio will star as an assassin who must go on the run with his boss' wife after he fails to kill her. [Deadline]

Nymphomaniac: The film board of Turkey has declared that Lars von Trier's sexually explicit Nymphomanic is pornography and banned it from theatrical release in that country. Dissenters to the ban include a member of the film board and internationally known filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
