
Uncut Gems: Adam Sandler recently flexed his dramatic chops in The Meyerowitz Stories (above) and soon he will be teaming with Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie, the filmmakers behind the acclaimed dramatic thriller Good Time. No other details have been revealed yet, beyond the title (Uncut Gems), though we hear that production is scheduled to begin this fall. Martin Scorsese will serve as one of the executive producers. Saw: The eighth film in a long-running horror series, the modestly-budgeted Jigsaw (above) proved to be a financial success last fall, earning more than $100 million at the worldwide box office. Reportedly, Jigsaw writers Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger (Piranha 3D, Sorority Row) are now developing the next installment. It's not known if it's a direct follow-up to any of the previous films or is, perhaps, a reboot. [Bloody Disgusting]

Catch-22: Hugh Laurie (Hulu's Chance, above) has joined the cast of Catch-22. Christopher Abbott stars in the limited series for Hulu that is based on Joseph Heller's classic anti-war novel. George Clooney costars and will also direct some of the episodes, as will his production partner Grant Heslov and Ellen Kuras. Luke Davies and David Michôd wrote the scripts. [Deadline]

Night School Trailer: Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish star in Night School. As the first trailer reveals, the comedy revolves around a group of misfits who must attend night school in the hope of passing the GED exam. Haddish plays a strict teacher, with Hart and Rob Riggle among the misfits. The comedy will open in theaters on September 28. [Movieclips]
