Villain #1: The American remake of Park Chan-wook’s grueling, Korean-language revenge thriller
Oldboy is moving forward.
Sharlto Copley, the hero of
District 9, has been confirmed to play a villain for director
Spike Lee.
Josh Brolin will star; the female lead, previously offered to Rooney Mara and Mia Wasikowski, is still up in the air. Lee hopes to start production in the fall. [

Villain #2: The role of another villain has been offered to
Luke Evans (
Immortals, Robin Hood). Evans, who plays a dedicated detective in
The Raven, would be the chief bad guy in Justin Lin’s
Fast Six. Jason Statham was previously considered for the role, which suggests that it’s a substantial part opposite the returning good guys (
Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, and the now confirmed
Michelle Rodriguez) and forces of the law (
Dwayne Johnson and, possibly,
Gina Carano). [

Oscars Remain in Hollywood: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has signed a deal to keep the annual Oscar show in Hollywood for the next 20 years, putting to rest fears that it would be moved to a larger facility in downtown Los Angeles. A separate agreement for naming rights has been reached with Dolby Laboratories, which means that the former Kodak Theatre will be renamed; jokesters have already suggested that it be called the Blinded By Science Theatre. Porn Poster: For a movie about the infamous star of the groundbreaking pornographic film
Deep Throat, the new poster for
Lovelace is remarkably … tasteful.
Amanda Seyfried leads a strong cast. [
