Your Next Buddy Cops: Hey, if it’s good enough for Jonah Hill, it’s good enough for his buddy Seth Rogen, who wants to play an undercover cop in his next movie. Instead of going back to high school, as Hill did in 21 Jump Street, Rogen will team with comedian Kevin Hart “in the story of the (fictional) pairing of the first interracial police partnership.” The project, which has no title at the moment, is set in the late 1940s and features Rogen and Hart going undercover at a jazz club on the trail of a marijuana ring. Casting Roundelay: Ah, Hollywood, where “negotiations” and “talks” fly fast and furious, and you never really know who’s going to be in what until the teaser for the trailer is announced. Recently, Jake Gyllenhaal was supposedly a sure thing to play an ex-convict in Motor City, but 24 hours later he was out. So you’re welcome to take the news that he is again “in negotations” to star in another film with a grain of salt. The newest possibility is entitled An Enemy, and Gyllenhaal would play two roles, a “dysfunctional history teacher” and “his exact double.” [Showblitz]

The Kid Stays in the Pictures: You have to give props to Thomas Horn, the 12-year-old boy who won Jeopardy! and then a challenging role in 9/11 drama Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. Though the role seemed tailor-made for the hyper-bright young man, he is ready to expand his range in two more movies. Space Warriors revolves around a handful of children enrolled in NASA’s space camp who “spring into action when something goes wrong aboard a space station,” while Joe’s Mountain will feature Horn as a boy with bad lungs who receives assistance from magically-cured cancer survivor Kris Kristofferson.
