Monty Python's Flying Circus

Pythons Ahoy!: Four members of Monty Python’s Flying Circus will reunite for Absolutely Anything, a live-action picture that will feature extensive CGI. John Cleese, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam will play aliens who gift a human with special powers; Terry Jones will direct, and Eric Idle is also being sought for a role. Non-Python Robin Williams will play a talking dog. (Showblitz)

It’s Complicated: Described as a “complicated” family story rather than a dysfunctional one -- so that sounds refreshing -- the indie drama Writers just gained two stars for the leads. Greg Kinnear will play a novelist and Jennifer Connelly his ex-wife; Josh Boone has written the original screenplay and is set to direct. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Film and Friction: In a story that’s been developing all week, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg has conceded that showing The Third Jihad, an anti-Muslim film shown for months to police officers receiving anti-terrorist training, was not a good idea. “Anything like this doesn’t help credibility,” said Mayor Bloomberg; Muslim activists have called for the resignation of Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, who consented to an interview that appears in the film.
