Whatever Works

Curb This: The co-creator of Seinfeld, Larry David, will star in an untitled comedy which will be made in the improvisational style of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Toward that end, David (above, in Woody Allen's Whatever Works) is working on a treatment with three of his writing collaborators from Seinfeld and Curb, though no information about the premise has been revealed. Greg Mottola (Paul, Superbad) is in negotiations to direct. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Duel to the Death: Because you can never have too many movies about hunting down and killing Osama Bin Laden, the Weinstein Co. wants to buy Code Name Geronimo, directed by John Stockwell, and get it into theatres before Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled project (provisionally named Zero Dark Thirty) arrives on December 19. The deal is not finalized; Code Name Geronimo focuses on the Navy SEALS and toplines William Fichtner. [Deadline]

Locked Up: After a long day of filming his latest project, Now You See Me, at a shuttered movie theater in Louisiana, Michael Caine decided to take a nap -- and was accidentally locked in for the night in a pitch-black makeshift dressing room. The actor, 79, who had left his cell phone elsewhere, was only discovered the next morning by chance when a carpenter heard his cries and freed him.  Caine “wasn't in the best of moods … [but] grateful to have been found.” [The Guardian]

Relic in a Box: Supernatural thrills abound in The Possession, which stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick, and is due for a late summer release. The first trailer reveals the dangers involved in buying unknown objects at yard sales.  [Yahoo! Movies via ComingSoon]
