British Raunch Coming to America: Youth comedy
The Inbetweeners, a runaway success at the U.K. box office, has been picked up by Wrekin Hill for U.S. distribution. Based on a TV series, the film follows four young men on a vacation trip to Greece in search of fun times and as much sex and nudity as possible; Wrekin Hill plans a late spring release. (

Oscar’s New Rules for Docs and Shorts: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences officially confirmed that it has adopted
new eligibility rules for documentaries and short films. As reported earlier, all members of the doc branch will henceforth vote on films to be shortlisted, and a doc must be reviewed by either the
New York Times or
Los Angeles Times to be eligible. Also, members may henceforth watch eligible docs and shorts on DVD (or online), rather than the previously-required theatrical screenings. (
