Tower Heist

Back to the Small Screen: HBO has signed Ben Stiller to direct and star in All Talk, a comedy series scheduled to begin production in the fall. The show, written by Jonathan Safran Foer, revolves around a Jewish family in Washington, DC; Alan Alda, who sparred with Stiller in Tower Heist (pictured above), is in negotiations to co-star. Spike’s Next: The latest film by Spike Lee, Red Hook Summer, debuted at Sundance on Sunday to a divided response, highlighted by a spirited post-screening Q&A. Another, very personal-sounding project, Brooklyn Loves MJ, could be next, though it’s still very much up in the air while he tries to get distribution for Red Hook Summer nailed down. Theater Tweeting, Dirty Aussie Style: A four-theater movie chain in Australia decided to host a live, uncensored Twitter feed on its website, but was forced to remove it after comments such as “I get that the guy and horse from War Horse were best friends but do you think they were also friends with benefits?" drew criticism. Hannibal Blinks: In an interview to promote a new CD of his musical compositions, Sir Anthony Hopkins was asked: “Did you have to train yourself not to blink as Hannibal Lecter?” The Academy Award winner responded: “What a stupid question. You don't need to train. You just keep your eyes open.” We love Tony! (The Guardian)
