‘Hugo’ Reunion in Space: Young Asa Butterfield has already been cast as the lead in the upcoming science-fiction thriller Ender’s Game, and now Ben Kingsley is in talks to play “a legendary war hero presumed thought to be long dead.” Butterfield and Kingsley previously acted together in Martin Scorsese’s Hugo (pictured above); Hailee Steinfeld is already set for another lead role. Han Solo, Baseball Integrator: While Harrison Ford has also been considered for a supporting role in Ender’s Game, he is now in active talks to star as Branch Rickey, the baseball executive who signed Jackie Robinson and integrated Major League Baseball, in a film currently titled 42. Robert Redford had previously been attached to play the part. (Entertainment Weekly)

From a Literary Detective to a TV Spy: With the recent departure of Steven Soderbergh from The Man From U.N.C.L.E., the project needs a new director, and Guy Ritchie might be that man. Ritchie’s most recent film is Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, which comes out next week. (Deadline)

Hell on Halloween: Director Neil Marshall is in preliminary discussion to helm Hellfire, a horror movie set at a theme park on Halloween. The hope is that it will become a franchise for CBS Films; Marshall previously made The Descent and Centurion, among other bloody genre flicks. (Deadline)
