Being John Malkovich

Being Catherine: HBO has grabbed a new comedy series created by Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich) that will star Catherine Keener. Kaufman will write and direct the series, which will explore one day in a woman’s life and “how the events leading up to it can affect, or not, the reality in which she lives.” Keener is also starring in the upcoming Frank or Francis, which Kaufman is directing. Distant Dream: MGM has “quietly” begun looking for a writer to pen a remake of John Sturges’ The Magnificent Seven, which itself is an unofficial adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai. Tom Cruise is attached to star, but it’s on the back burner for the notoriously indecisive actor, so it could be years before it hits theaters. [Showblitz]

Get the Greek: Director Nicholas Stoller is in negotations to helm Townies, a comedy that will star Seth Rogen and Zac Efron. Stoller most recently survived disappointing returns on The Five-Year Engagement. In Townies, Rogen will play a family man dealing with the disruptions caused by frat boy Efron. We're predicting an odd couple pairing along the lines of Stoller's Get Him to the Greek. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Just Keep Swimming: It's been nine years since Pixar's Finding Nemo graced the big screen, but it's returning in September as part of the company's 3D reissue program. As a reminder of the film's greatness, check out the trailer below, featuring the voices of Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres. [Yahoo! Movies]
