Twilight

Vampire Interrogator: Can a sparkly vampire be convincing as the real-life military interrogator who led the search for Saddam Hussein? Twilight’s Robert Pattinson is attached to star in Mission: Blacklist, based on the true story of Eric Maddox, who conducted more than 300 interrogations in search of information to locate Hussein. The film version is intended to be a psychological thriller; Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire (Johnny Mad Dog) is ready to direct. [press release via Deadline]

Actor Finds Jobs: Nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actor for his outstanding performance in A Better Life, Demián Bichir is lining up work in a couple of diverse projects. First comes what is likely a supporting role in Robert Rodriguez’ Machete Kills, which sounds like a lark. The more interesting project is William Friedkin’s Trapped, a thriller in which Bichir would star as an Israeli operative. The latter has the potential to showcase Bichir’s talents on a larger stage. Dukes Redux?: The statute of limitations on reboots is getting shorter and shorter. Case in point: A film version of The Dukes of Hazzard TV show was made in 2005, followed two years later by a direct-to-video prequel. Now Jody Hill (Eastbound and Down, Observe and Report) is writing a script for an action project set in the American South that could become a Dukes of Hazzard reboot. Hill, who is attached to direct, wants it to be in the style of Sam Peckinpah, but Warner Bros. may slap the Hazzard title on it anyway; they won't decide until the script is completed -- perhaps so they can see if it's close enough to get away with it? Yes, the ways of Hollywood are strange, indeed. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Scaly and Blurry: Ahead of a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, new images of the villainous character known as The Lizard have been released, and they are ... er, not too impressive. (Sorry!) At least the one below provides an idea of his size; no doubt The Lizard will look terrifying in full motion as soon as the trailer hits. [Coming Soon]
