X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-Men: Days of Future Past: Director Bryan Singer is "back in the cutting room" as he prepares X-Men: Days of Future Past for release on May 23, 2014. The quoted caption above is for a photo he shared on social media, an image suggesting that the school for mutants run by Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) may not have much of a future. Warcraft: With Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) set to direct, the casting process for big-budget game adaptation Warcraft has begun in earnest. Though neither has been confirmed, Colin Farrell and Paula Patton are both under consideration for lead roles, which establishes the level of name recognition that the project is seeking. The movie is scheduled to begin production in January 2014. [Deadline]

Minions: We heard recently that Pixar moved The Good Dinosaur to 2015, meaning 2014 will be the first year without a Pixar movie since 2005, and now comes word that we'll have to wait longer for more Minions, too. The spin-off from the burgeoning Despicable Me franchise had been scheduled for December 19, 2004, but will now hit theaters on July 10, 2015, where it will slide into a time period with no competing animated films aimed at children. Enemy Trailer: Director Denis Villeneuve and Jake Gyllenhaal team with Hugh Jackman for the just-opened thriller Prisoners, but that was the second time Villeneuve and Gyllenhaal had worked together. A teaser for their first collaboration, Enemy, takes a mysterious glimpse at a professor in both his personal and professional life. The intriguing movie is heading to theaters next year.
