The Jetsons

The Jetsons: Popular TV series The Jetsons may finally be returning to the big screen in animated form. The show ran for two seasons in the early 1960s and then for one more season in 1987; a movie version flew into theaters in 1990 with limited box office success. A live-action adaptation was in development for several years, most recently in 2012, but now Warner Bros. has hired Matt Lieberman to write a new script for an animated project. [Deadline]

The Strangers

The Strangers 2: Marcel Langenegger, who previously directed the 2008 mystery Deception, is in negotiations to direct a sequel to The Strangers. The original starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as a couple who are stalked by a masked trio of home invaders. The sequel will follow the trio as they visit new terrors upon a family at a mobile home park. [The Wrap]

Dracula Untold

The Crow: Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) will not be starring in a reboot of The Crow after all. The actor has been attached to the project for nearly two years, when shooting was planned for early 2014, but with various delays, he's now dropped out "to pursue other projects." Director Corin Hardy is still on board and will begin a search for a new star soon. [The Wrap]

Wild Canaries

Wild Canaries Trailer: A young couple in Brooklyn decides to investigate the unexpected death of a neighbor in Wild Canaries. A refreshing new trailer for the indie feature suggests that it's a murder mystery mixed with screwball comedy; Sophia Takai, Lawrence Michael Levine and Alia Shawkat star. The movie will open in theaters on February 25. [Yahoo]
