Sacha Baron Cohen: News flash: Hollywood reads newspapers! Or at least scans them quickly and picks out the most outrageous headlines, as seems to be the case with The Lesbian, which is inspired by the case of a Hong Kong billionaire who, we are told, “offered $65 million to any man who succeeded in marrying his lesbian daughter.” Sacha Baron Cohen and his company sprung into action and pitched a movie, and Paramount snapped it up as a potential starring vehicle for Cohen. Hitchcock: A new set of images has been released for Hitchcock, the movie that promises to take us behind the scenes of the filming of Psycho. Anthony Hopkins stars as the famed director, with Scarlett Johannson as Janet Leigh, Jessica Biel as Vera Miles and James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins. The movie premieres at AFI Fest on November 1 before opening in theaters on November 23. [People Magazine]

Michael Bay: Previously responsible for new versions of Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street, among others, Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes production company is now ready to move forward with Almanac, described simply as a found-footage project. Paramount has picked up the film, written by newcomers Andrew Stark and Jason Pagan, and to be directed by another first timer, Dean Israelite. Love its movies or not, Platinum Dunes usually has an eye on commercially oriented, harder-edged projects, which makes Alamanac stand out. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Skyfall Clip: We’ve seen terrific bits and pieces of action scenes assembled into teasers and trailers, but the first extended clip from a single sequence in Skyfall gives us an even more breathtaking look at Daniel Craig as James Bond. The movies opens in theaters on November 9. [Yahoo! Movies]
