Paranormal Activity 4

Paranormal Activity 5: Unsurprisingly, in view of the high financial returns compared to low production budgets, Paramount has given the official green light to Paranormal Activity 5, set for next October. Six months ago, it was reported that the studio would also be making a Latino-themed spin-off (in English) of the series that could be released in January 2013; the latest rumor is that it will instead be dated for the spring. Skyfall: We have to wait until November 9 to see Daniel Craig as James Bond in Skyfall, his latest adventure, but the film crashes into U.K. theaters this week. A new IMAX poster whips up just a little more excitement, if that’s at all possible, as Craig/Bond strikes a very strong pose. [Den of Geek]

The Hobbit: Oh, why not? Stephen Colbert, host of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, will make a cameo appearance in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. Colbert is said to be a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and reportedly reads Elvish (?!). He was invited to the set last year by Jackson. It’s not known in which movie(s) he will appear, though a source claims it won’t be in the first one, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which is due in theaters on December 14. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Lincoln: Steven Spielberg had a showcase interview with Lesley Stahl on 60 Minutes last night, explaining how his relationship with his father has influenced nearly every movie he’s made, including his latest, Lincoln, which will open in limited release on November 9. In a bonus, online only segment of the program, we hear Daniel Day-Lewis talk about playing the 16th president of the United States. You can watch both videos below. [CBS]
