Mission: Impossible 5

Mission: Impossible 5: The "Impossible Mission Force" has reunited, as Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames posed for a photo on the set of Mission: Impossible 5. They will be joined by Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and Sean Harris, the latter recently confirmed as the chief villain. Christopher McQuarrie, who shared the photo, will direct; the movie is due in theaters on December 25, 2015. [Twitter via Collider]

Underworld 5: Theo James, who costarred opposite Shailene Woodley in Divergent (above), will take on the lead role in Underworld 5. James appeared in a supporting role as a vampire in Underworld: Awakening (2013); in the new installment, described now as an "expansion" of the series rather than a reboot, he will star opposite two female leads, who are yet to be cast. Production is expected to begin in the spring of 2015. [Heat Vision]

Rant: James Franco, who loves to stay busy, has optioned Rant, a novel by Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, Choke). The book, first published in 2007, tells the story of Buster Casey, a memorable character who grows up disruptively, moves to the city, and becomes involved in a lifestyle revolving around a modified demolition derby game known as party crashing. Franco is currently filming Zeroville, based on the novel by Steve Erickson, for which he has shaved his head. [Lit Reactor]
