Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3: So far, the promotional material for Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 has mainly focused on the superheroic aspects of the tale, but we keep hearing that this will be a more grounded installment of the series, and new images provide further evidence of that approach (see Robert Downey Jr.’s battered face), while still allowing for glamor (see Gwyneth Paltrow and Guy Pearce). Iron Man 3 kicks off the summer movie season on May 3. [Disney via Collider]

This Is Where I Leave You: Tina Fey is in negotiations to play Jason Bateman’s sister in This Is Where I Leave You, a comedy/drama based on the book by Jonathan Tropper. The story brings together four siblings who must spend a week together in order to fulfill a condition of their father’s will. Kathryn Hahn is rumored to be joining the cast, while a handful of actresses are under consideration for the romantic lead. Shawn Levy (Real Steel; The Internship) is set to direct. Weekend of a Champion: Way back in 1971, after Rosemary’s Baby but before Chinatown, director Roman Polanski made Weekend of a Champion, a documentary on Formula 1 race car driver Jackie Stewart, but the film failed to gain a release in the United States. Until now, that is: Brett Ratner’s company has acquired North American rights to the doc, which covers a single weekend of racing at the legendary course in Monco; it’s part of a deal the company has with Netflix. Oblivion Trailer: To go along with the new posters that popped up yesterday, a new trailer has been released for Joseph Kahn’s Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise. This one strikes a great balance between the characters, the lonely postapocalyptic setting, a dangerous mystery and stunning visuals. The movie plays in IMAX theaters exclusively beginning on April 12, ahead of its general wide release the following week. [Apple via Collider]
