The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence)

The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence): The second sequel to a notoriously icky horror movie looks much less nauseating, judging from the first image released. That's intentional; director Tom Six says The Human Centipeded III (Final Sequence) will be "certainly not as gross" and claims it will be "the most darkly comical of the three." As promised, though, 500 people will still be stitched together in monstrous fashion at some point; the movie, set in a maximum security prison, will be released later this year. [EW.com]

The Deep Blue Good-By: In a good news/bad news situation, James Mangold (Wolverine) is in negotiations to direct The Deep Blue Good-By, based on the first in a series of mystery/action novels by John D. MacDonald, featuring beach-bum "salvage consultant"/detective Travis McGee. The bad news is that Leonardo DiCaprio, who was set to play McGee, is exiting the project due to scheduling issues. Dennis Lehane (Mystic River) wrote the latest draft of the screenplay. [Deadline]

The Avengers: Age of Ultron: What happens when an action star gets pregnant? Scarlett Johannson recently revealed that she is expecting her first child in August, so that means the schedule for filming her scenes in The Avengers: Age of Ultron has been adjusted. Johannson will finish promoting Captain America: The Winter Soldier and then head overseas in early April to begin work as the catsuited Black Widow in Joss Whedon's sequel. [E! Online]

Stage Fright Trailer: Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf can be glimpsed in the first, red-band (NSFW, very bloody) trailer for Stage Fright, a hybrid horror-musical-comedy from director Jerome Sable. The action takes place at a camp for theater geeks, where a serial killer is apparently running amuck. Resembling a nutty marriage between Glee and Scream, the movie will be available via VOD on April 3 and then open in theaters on May 9. [Yahoo]
