The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Ocean's Eight: Richard Armitage (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, above) has joined the cast of Ocean's Eight. Gary Ross is directing the spin-off, which stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and Mindy Kaling. No details about Armitage's role have been offered. [Deadline]

 

Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan: Warner Bros. is in negotiations to acquire feature film rights to Attack on Titan, a Japanese manga that was transformed into a successful anime series and two live-action movies (above). If things work out, David Heyman (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) will serve as producer for an English-language feature. The story follows humans who must battle a giant alien race known as the Titans. [Deadline]

 

Eastern Promises

Body Cross: A new rumor asserts that Body Cross, a sequel to David Cronenberg's crime thriller Eastern Promises, starring Viggo Mortensen (above), will begin shooting in London in March. The Ottoman Lieutenant

The Ottoman Lieutenant Trailer: Ben Kingsley is featured in the first trailer for The Ottoman Lieutenant. Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones) and Hera Hilmar (Da Vinci's Demons) star as a Turkish officer and an American nurse, respectively, who fall in love during World War I.
