Deadpool

Deadpool 2: Ryan Reynolds will star in a sequel to Deadpool. Director Tim Miller will also return, as will writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. A sequel has been touted even before the original started smashing box office records in February, but this is the first official confirmation. We'll have to wait a bit longer, though, to find out when Fox plans to release the movie. [CinemaCon]

Batman: The Killing Joke

Batman: The Killing Joke: An animated movie version of Alan Moore's classic tale, Batman: The Killing Joke, has been rated R. It's the first entry in the DC universe original movie franchise to receive the restricted rating, though the extended home video version of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was recently rated R. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill lead the voice cast as Batman and the Joker, respectively. The movie will be released later this year. [EW]
