Hellboy: Sasha Lane has joined the cast of the new Hellboy, to be directed by Neil Marshall. David Harbour will star as the titular superhero, a well-meaning demon; Ian McShane will play his father and Milla Jovovich is expected to play the villainous Blood Queen. Lane, who made her impressive screen debut in American Honey (above), will play Alice Monaghan; in Mike Mignola's comic book series, Alice becomes a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense and fights against occult forces alongside Hellboy. Kong: Skull Island

Captain Marvel: Geneva Robertson-Dworet (the forthcoming Tomb Raider and Gotham City Sirens) has come on board Captain Marvel to write the screenplay. We heard previously that Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman would be doing so, but both have departed the project. Brie Larson (above in Kong: Skull Island) will star; Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind) will direct. The movie, set in the 1990s, is slated for release on March 8, 2019. [Deadline]

Office Christmas Party

Raunchy Parenting Comedy: Jennifer Aniston (Office Christmas Party, above) is in negotiations to star in an untitled movie described as an "R-rated suburban parenting comedy." Sophie Goodhart (My Blind Brother) wrote the original screenplay and will direct. The movie will follow a couple in the suburbs who seek to regain the magic of their younger years, before their schedules got too crowded and their responsibilities grew heavy. [Deadline]
