Thor at Sea: Fresh off his success in The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman, Chris Hemsworth is now attached to star in the true story of a ship attacked by a sperm whale. Based on the National Book Award-winning account by Nathaniel Philbrick, In the Heart of the Sea spins a tale of maritime disaster in the South Pacific, in which a whaling ship sank, stranding its sailors on the high seas; the disaster reportedly inspired Herman Melville's Moby Dick. The project has been in development since the book was published in 2000. [Deadline]

Noah’s Nemesis: What type of character, exactly, is the “villain” in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah? A prickly building inspector? The leader of an opposition religious group? A “not in my backyard” neighbor? Whatever the case, Ray Winstone is considered the perfect candidate to be the nemesis of Russell Crowe’s Noah, and has been offered the role. That would leave Noah’s wife as the last major role up for grabs. [Deadline]

Beastly Crime: Director Neil Burger made several underseen dramas, including Iraq War-themed drama The Lucky Ones and magic-themed drama The Illusionist, before hitting it big at the box office with the Bradley Cooper-starring thriller Limitless last year. He’s attached to helm an adaptation of the video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and now he’s also been hired to direct Animal Rescue, a crime story by Dennis Lehane, whose novels served as the basis for Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, and Shutter Island. Talking Characters: What could be better than seeing Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy in action? Why, hearing Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone talk about their roles, of course! Check out the stars of The Amazing Spider-Man in this behind-the-scenes featurette. [Coming Soon]
