Things We Need in Real Life: A GPS System Featuring Morgan Freeman's Voice

Things We Need in Real Life: A GPS System Featuring Morgan Freeman's Voice

Sep 24, 2013

Morgan Freeman has one of the finest voices in cinema, which is why this parody of the star and his distinctive tone is so perfect. Actor, comedian and impressionist Josh Robert Thompson imagines what it would be like if Freeman became the voice of your car's GPS — and it's brilliant. Driving with the GPS version of Freeman is like having your own tour guide, dramatic voice-over narrator, and smart-ass (he calls the stalkery press cars "douchebuggies," for starters) all rolled into one.

It's a lot more fun than Driving Miss Daisy, too. Thompson has a few other impressions posted on his YouTube page. His George Lucas (complete with epic neck fat) and Robert Downey Jr. impersonations are equally dead on — but we can see someone with an untrained ear mistaking RDJ for Jeff Goldblum. We wonder if Thompson takes requests, because we'd really love an impression of Bryan Cranston/Walter White voicing a prescription drug or fried chicken commercial.
